Sky Sport had the content rights for showing live F1 races and there was a need from the news channel Sky Sports News HD to show more Analytics of the races. The goal was to create an on-air tool that the anchors can use to show data and do analysis.
The app contained more than 20 different templates to show a F1 data. Some of the templates can also play videos. For example, a corner of a specific track filmed before the race.
To be able to show the car's and track-parts in such detail in real-time, we used clips - created in Cinema 4D.
The navigation happens with a side-panel the user can call by pressing in the corner of the screen, it will disappear after some seconds and rebuild itself, depending on the actual template on-air. In total, the project was created from scratch in 2 months, including OPTA live data integration.
